you are
welcome here
We come together as a Faith Community every Sunday to worship and pray, explore more about faith, and catch up with one another over a cup of coffee… and all are welcome to join.
Hi! I’m Paul Francis, one of the leaders here at Glenwood Church. You’ll see me most Sunday mornings at our Glenwood Gathering, so please do find me and say hello.
Our starting point is that God is love, and so all are welcomed and accepted here.
When you first join us you may have lots of questions like, how things work, what we believe, and how to get to know people... You should find most of this information on the website somewhere, but may I suggest a couple of things to start you off?
Firstly say hello to someone at the welcome desk – they’re there to help you! Secondly, tell them you’d like to come to a Welcome Meal, we hold these every term and it’s a great opportunity for you to find out more about the Glenwood Faith Community, the smaller communities you can become a part of, and get to know other people who are thinking about making this their home.
We look forward to meeting you.
what to expect...
The service lasts between 60-80 minutes, and includes singing led by one of our bands, stories and creative pieces from people across the Faith Community, and a talk. We try to keep all we do rooted in everyday life. The children join at the beginning of the service, and are then invited to head to their various programmes which take place in their designated spaces.
10:30am Tea and coffee is served on arrival
10:45am Morning celebration starts
11:00am Children head to their groups
12:15pm Morning celebration finishes
Once a term we host an extended time of hospitality after the service, gathering around drinks and sweet treats to celebrate the season!
children
We hope every child discovers that this is a community where they are safe and valued and where they can have opportunities to connect with Jesus in meaningful, age-appropriate ways.
On Sundays, children begin in the service, before heading to their designated groups.
The Treehouse is for children in school years 4-6, The Den is for children in school years reception - 3, and The Cwtch is a space for Babies and Toddlers.
youth
The Youth Room hosts a regular Sunday Faith Breakfast, for young people aged 11+ with games, chat, reflection, and of course, toasted waffles! Young People are welcome to head straight up at 10.30am, or at any point during the service.
safeguarding
Glenwood is committed to providing a safe culture for all. Our children’s and youth teams receive regular safeguarding training and have DBS certificates.
