Glenwood Church is privileged to support a number of its members who work in a cross-cultural environment, here in the UK or overseas.
These families and individuals represent a variety of different types of projects including language projects, pastoral work, healthcare, and community-based projects.
Our GO workers are ordinary men and women with specific calls to serve God outside of their own areas. As a church, we send them out and support their ministries as an extension of our own vision and work. Some of the ways in which we support them are;
Through prayer – GO: Pray meet monthly to pray for the needs of our overseas workers
Financially – A recent church-wide appeal for a school in Burkina Faso enabled the project to be moved significantly forward.
Raising awareness – We regularly circulate up-to-date information and resources to church members.
The GO: Planning Group is a small team of people that administers these activity areas. Whilst a small nucleus itself, the group draws on the expertise and gifting of other Glenwood members either as Link People or in other ways. Church Life Groups support individual GO: Workers and church services include updates or overseas news items on a regular basis.
A monthly meeting where we pray for each GO: Worker and their circumstances.
Second Sunday of each month (except August)
6.30 PM – 8.00 PM at Glenwood Church Centre
Details of Glenwood’s missionaries and their families can be found on the church noticeboards.
