In
Glenwood we really appreciate and value
people who start attending the church.
I realise that this can often not be
easy. Sometimes when you come for the
first few times you feel like a non-member
visiting an exclusive club. It raises
questions such as, 'how do I get to
know people? Will I ever feel I belong?'
We want you to enjoy and be part of
our community. So, as part of our vision
to help people feel that they belong
'to' and want to be part of Glenwood
Church we are holding 'Getting to know
Glenwood' evenings.
The 'Getting to know
Glenwood' is for people who have just
started to come to Glenwood and are
exploring who we are. You may have
just started the spiritual journey
with God or been on it for a long
time. You may have moved to the area
or just recovering from some bad experience
of church and trying to take some
tentative steps back. Wherever we
are, the Christian life is a journey.
It's not staying where we are, it's
not a holiday or an escape - it is
a journey, an adventure, a quest
.hearing
and following God's call to learn,
grow, love and serve.
The
'Getting to know Glenwood' evening
The evening consists of having a meal
together and then one of the leaders
will spend some time going through
who we are, what we believe, what
we sense that God is calling us to
do and ways in which people can get
involved. The evening is fun and fast
moving and at the end you will be
given a file full of relevant information.
But above all we hope that you will
have a sense of what we are about
and answer any questions that you
may have.
The next 'Getting
to know Glenwood' evening will be
in October or November. If you would
like to attend could you please contact
either by telephone (029 2033 7880),
by e-mailing d.meeson@glenwoodchurch.org,
or by filling in the form on the right.
